The album’s centerpiece is Cundick’s Organ Concerto, a dynamic and expressive work featuring a string ensemble of seventeen players, recorded at the University of Utah’s Libby Gardner Concert Hall. Composed in 1972, the concerto exemplifies Cundick’s ability to integrate the organ’s rich tonal colors with orchestral textures. The recording captures the piece’s nuanced harmonies and engaging structure, designed to appeal to both musicians and general listeners.

Complementing the concerto are a sampling of Cundick's many creative hymn settings, recorded on the majestic Schoenstein organ of the Conference Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah. These arrangements feature powerful and contemplative settings of such beloved hymns as "O God, Our Help in Ages Past" and "Sweet Hour of Prayer.

Cundick’s remarkable career included 26 years as a Salt Lake Tabernacle organist, where he played a vital role in developing the music programs on Temple Square. His legacy endures in his compositions, which continue to inspire musicians and audiences alike.

This recording, part of the Heritage Series on Tantara Records, honors Cundick’s contributions to organ and sacred music, ensuring his works remain an enduring part of the musical canon.
