Description
Majestic listening, the music of kings and queens
The clear, clarion character of the trumpet with the power and majesty of the organ combine to provide music of a gorgeous regal quality, aptly suited to elegant listening or celebration. Several composers have written specifically for these two instruments or at least specified these timbres, and in other instances familiar classics have been adapted and arranged for this medium. The resulting repertory ranges from pastoral, lyric pieces to energetic works suitable for processionals and recessionals. These pieces—brilliantly performed—cover a broad dynamic spectrum, and the lush acoustic of Salt Lake City’s Cathedral of the Madeleine, captured in brilliant digital clarity, enhances and complements both the instruments and the music.
