Description

1998 marked the hundredth anniversary of the birth of American musical icon George Gershwin. The American Piano Duo, Jeffrey Shumway of Brigham Young University and Del Parkinson of Boise State, celebrate Gershwin with a tribute album of two-piano, four-hand versions of Gershwin favorites. Friends since boyhood, Shumway and Parkinson are blazing players, and they deliver Gershwin with all the requisite power, buoyancy and sensitivity. It's an all-digital recording, and the package features a new painting of Gershwin, commissioned for the CD.
